Cookie Policy
Last updated: 3 May 2026
This page explains what cookies the Slap’n’Pop Music website uses, what they do, and how you can control them. For more on how I handle personal data generally, see my Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device to remember things — like whether you’re logged in, what language you’ve chosen, or whether you’ve already dismissed the cookie banner. Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others are used for analytics or to power embedded content like YouTube videos.
How I use cookies
This website uses cookies in four categories:
Functional cookies (always on)
These keep the site working — remembering your cookie preferences, keeping the contact form working, securing the connection. The site can’t function without these.
Statistics cookies (with consent)
I use Google Analytics to see anonymous information about how the site is used — which pages are popular, how visitors find the site, what device they’re using. This data is aggregated; I can’t identify individual visitors.
Marketing cookies (with consent)
I don’t currently run any advertising or remarketing. If that changes in future, this section will be updated and you’ll be asked to consent before any marketing cookies are set.
Embedded content (with consent)
Some pages embed content from third parties — YouTube videos, SoundCloud audio players, Google Maps. These services may set their own cookies when you interact with the embedded content.
Managing your cookie preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the “Manage cookies” link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
Blocking all cookies will affect how the site works — for example, embedded videos may not display, and the cookie banner will keep reappearing.
Third-party services that set cookies
The following services may set cookies on this site:
- Google Analytics — anonymous website usage data
- YouTube — when video content is loaded
- SoundCloud — when audio content is loaded
- Stripe — when you go through the checkout
- Trustindex — for the Google reviews carousel
Each of these has its own cookie and privacy practices. Their policies are linked from their respective websites.
